{"id":3035,"date":"2017-01-12T20:53:33","date_gmt":"2017-01-12T20:53:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dejusticia.org\/?page_id=3035"},"modified":"2025-11-14T10:41:33","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T15:41:33","slug":"how-we-work","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/how-we-work\/","title":{"rendered":"HOW WE WORK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>\n\t\t\tHow We Work\t<\/h1>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tWe have five cross-cutting teams, which work across all issue areas\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<p>Photo: Jonas Smith<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<p>Dejusticia is organized into <a href=\"https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/issues\/\">seven thematic lines<\/a> and five cross-cutting areas, all of which are strongly integrated to one another.<\/p>\n<p>While a thematic line focuses on a specific research and advocacy topic, our crosscutting areas bring to bear additional tools with which Dejusticia achieves its advocacy goals, including litigation, communications, education,\u00a0and capacity building.<\/p>\n<p>Education and Internationalization are two cross-cutting teams that contribute to thematic lines by activating international networks or by providing tools to strengthen human rights advocacy skills by multiple stakeholders across the Global South.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Litigation and Communications are cross-cutting areas that power up the work of all teams and are a core part of the development of our advocacy strategies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Our Operations team facilitates the work of all the lines and areas and it coordinates our publications.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about each of them below.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tOur Cross-Cutting Areas\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<p>Photo: Shane Lin<\/p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/litigation\/\" target=\"_self\"  aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/litigation\/\"><\/a>\n\t\t<h3><br \/>Litigation<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>We develop, present and follow up on our own cases presented before the High Courts of Colombia. We also intervene, assist in or file amicus curiae in existing cases before Courts in Colombia, other countries, or before Commission or the Court in the Inter-American System.<\/p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/education\/\" target=\"_self\"  aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/education\/\"><\/a>\n\t\t<h3><br \/>Education<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We design and provide human rights education and capacity-building opportunities in a variety of formats-from online resources to workshops and conferences-to amplify the work of advocates across the Global South, and to assist academics, judges, policy designers and communities, among other actors, who seek to improve human rights conditions.<\/p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/internationalization\/\" target=\"_self\"  aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/internationalization\/\"><\/a>\n\t\t<h3>Global South &#038; North Collaborations: Internationalization<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>We seek to produce concrete changes in the practice and framing of human rights at the international level by amplifying the voice of the Global South and fortifying the global human rights movement through collaboration, expertise and experience sharing, capacity-building and education. We conduct\u00a0collaborative transnational advocacy, with Global South partners.<\/p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/press\/\" target=\"_self\"  aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/develop.dejusticia.org\/en\/\/en\/how-we-work\/press\/\"><\/a>\n\t\t<h3><br \/>Communications<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>The Communication area works with all the thematic lines in identifying themes, specific objectives, messages, and audiences.
