En Dejusticia celebramos este gran paso y esperamos que en nuestro pa&iacute;s sirva de inspiraci&oacute;n para que nosotros tambi&eacute;n alcancemos la igualdad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Aunque mediante la sentencia C-577 de 2011 de la Corte Constitucional qued&oacute; claro que aquellas parejas de hombres o de mujeres que se aman, se cuidan y mantienen una relaci&oacute;n estable conforman una familia, en Colombia todav&iacute;a no es posible legalmente que las parejas del mismo sexo se casen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Esta prohibici&oacute;n no solo las priva del reconocimiento simb&oacute;lico sino tambi&eacute;n de la protecci&oacute;n jur&iacute;dica que el matrimonio otorga, como la validez que tiene este contrato en pa&iacute;ses extranjeros y los derechos que se confieren al instante de contraer matrimonio como el derecho a una sociedad patrimonial protegida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">No podemos olvidar que nuestra Constituci&oacute;n tiene como pilar el reconocimiento de la autonom&iacute;a, la igualdad y el pluralismo. Adem&aacute;s, si bien consagra el matrimonio heterosexual no proh&iacute;be el homosexual.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Tampoco podemos perder de vista que Colombia ha ratificado tratados de derechos humanos, como la Convenci&oacute;n Americana, que tienen rango constitucional y definen m&aacute;s flexiblemente el matrimonio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">En una democracia pluralista es discriminatorio que a una persona se la prive de un derecho por su orientaci&oacute;n sexual.
