Este texto &nbsp;documenta las tendencias de la regulaci&oacute;n de la diversidad en el continente, as&iacute; como los reclamos de reconocimiento de las comunidades afro e ind&iacute;genas que han tenido lugar desde los a&ntilde;os noventa, cuando surgi&oacute; el &ldquo;constitucionalismo multicultural&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>Este &ldquo;constitucionalismo multicultural&rdquo; se &nbsp;ha traducido en normas y pr&aacute;cticas muy diversas &ndash;incluso contradictorias&ndash; dentro y entre diferentes pa&iacute;ses. En muchos contextos nacionales, el reconocimiento de la diversidad no ha ido de la mano de la redistribuci&oacute;n de recursos y poder pol&iacute;tico.<\/p>\n<p>Este libro de Dejusticia presenta un marco anal&iacute;tico y un panorama emp&iacute;rico de la realidad de los derechos ind&iacute;genas y afrodescendientes a lo largo de la regi&oacute;n. Para esto, rastrea las tendencias, avances y tensiones de la regulaci&oacute;n de la diversidad cultural y la justicia &eacute;tnico-racial a trav&eacute;s del an&aacute;lisis de cuatro temas: el derecho a la consulta previa, las leyes penales contra el racismo, el reconocimiento de derechos territoriales y la implementaci&oacute;n de programas de acciones afirmativas en la educaci&oacute;n
