Las afectaciones de sus relaciones personales han recibido la atenci\u00f3n propia de los chismes de far\u00e1ndula: se difunden como si fueran informaci\u00f3n de inter\u00e9s p\u00fablico y se interpretan a trav\u00e9s de especulaciones sin mayor fundamento, que parecen buscar saciar el morbo de los espectadores. <\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed, la separaci\u00f3n de Jorge Eduardo Gechem fue anunciada como primicia en confidenciales y tel\u00e9fonos rosa, que sugirieron como causa de la ruptura sus amor\u00edos en la selva. El saludo p\u00fablico de Ingrid Betancourt y su esposo al momento de su reencuentro fue juzgado como demasiado parco y dio lugar a conjeturas sobre el final de la relaci\u00f3n. Y el distanciamiento de Clara Rojas e Ingrid ha sido objeto de m\u00faltiples elucubraciones que incluyen diferencias personales, enredos amorosos y un enfrentamiento directo surgido tras el nacimiento de Emmanuel. <\/p>\n<p>Pero la falta de profesionalismo no se ha detenido ah\u00ed. Ciertos periodistas han interrogado de forma inquisitorial a los ex secuestrados sobre \u00edntimas y dolorosas vivencias enfrentadas durante el cautiverio, que requerir\u00edan un abordaje especial a fin de no causar un sufrimiento mayor. As\u00ed, sin ning\u00fan escr\u00fapulo, el periodista estadounidense Larry King pregunt\u00f3 a Ingrid si hab\u00eda sido violada, y Juan Gossa\u00edn pregunt\u00f3 a Clara Rojas si era cierto que hubiera tratado de ahogar a su hijo reci\u00e9n nacido en un r\u00edo. <\/p>\n<p>Estos y otros bochornosos episodios han sido ya criticados por otros comentaristas como Eduardo Pizarro y Maria Jimena Duz\u00e1n por el hecho de vulnerar el derecho a la intimidad de los liberados. Creo, sin embargo, que el insensible tratamiento dado a las experiencias de estos por parte de los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n no solo es problem\u00e1tico por vulnerar su derecho a la intimidad, sino tambi\u00e9n por atentar contra su dignidad y por someterlos a una segunda forma de victimizaci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n<p>No hay que olvidar que los ex secuestrados y sus familias son, ante todo, v\u00edctimas de graves violaciones de derechos humanos, y que los hechos que pretenden escudri\u00f1ar los medios se refieren a las atrocidades cometidas en su contra o a los da\u00f1os producidos por estas. <\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed pues, en la gran mayor\u00eda de casos, las rupturas de sus relaciones amorosas o de amistad constituyen uno de los muchos da\u00f1os causados por tales atrocidades. Sin embargo, su tratamiento banal y morboso desconoce esta situaci\u00f3n, y al hacerlo niega su condici\u00f3n de v\u00edctimas, equipar\u00e1ndolas a cualquier otra figura p\u00fablica cuya vida privada atrae la atenci\u00f3n. Dicha negaci\u00f3n impide que las v\u00edctimas recuperen plenamente la dignidad que les fue pisoteada con los cr\u00edmenes atroces, pues para que esto suceda resulta esencial el reconocimiento p\u00fablico de los da\u00f1os sufridos y de su car\u00e1cter injusto. <\/p>\n<p>Pero adem\u00e1s, muchos de los acontecimientos vividos durante el cautiverio que suscitan el inter\u00e9s de los medios son cr\u00edmenes atroces particularmente sensibles, tal y como sucede en el caso de la violencia sexual. En ese sentido, indagar por ellos en un medio masivo de comunicaci\u00f3n puede implicar una nueva forma de victimizaci\u00f3n para quienes los han sufrido, al exigirles revivir los hechos traum\u00e1ticos a trav\u00e9s de mecanismos inadecuados y en un escenario poco propicio para tal fin. En particular, las mujeres v\u00edctimas de violencia sexual suelen vivir una segunda experiencia de victimizaci\u00f3n cuando son interrogadas p\u00fablicamente y por hombres sobre el acaecimiento del crimen, en raz\u00f3n de los sentimientos de verg\u00fcenza e inferioridad que ello puede generar. <\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1s a\u00fan, ese tipo de situaciones puede inhibir a las v\u00edctimas a narrar sus historias y a denunciar p\u00fablicamente a sus victimarios a trav\u00e9s de los canales institucionales por miedo a volver a sufrir una experiencia victimizadora, lo cual obstaculiza que aquellas satisfagan sus derechos a la verdad, la justicia y la reparaci\u00f3n.
