On behalf of the Selection Committee of the Global South Fellowship Program at the Center for the Study of Law, Justice and Society \u2014 Dejusticia, we extend our warmest greetings and our deepest gratitude to everyone who applied to our program. We are pleased to see the interest among defenders in the Global South in continuing to build networks and collaborations with our organization.<\/p>\n

After thoroughly reviewing the more than 200 applications we received, we have concluded the selection process and have already notified the selected individuals directly. For security reasons \u2014 especially considering the contexts in which many defenders work \u2014 we will not be publishing the names of the six selected fellows.<\/p>\n

We received applications from different regions across the Global South, including Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The process was highly competitive and, unfortunately, we are unable to offer more spots than we currently have available, as we would have liked, given the high quality of the applications.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, at Dejusticia we would like to stay in touch with the many organizations, activists, and researchers who took the time to apply. If you or your organization are interested in collaborating with us, please feel free to write to us at our institutional email: info@dejusticia.org<\/a>. We assure you that your message will be taken into consideration.<\/p>\n

We firmly believe that coordinated work among organizations \u2014 through our solidarity program with the global human rights movement \u2014 fosters synergy, especially within the Global South. This contributes to enhancing the strategic relevance of organizations and of those who defend human rights and the environment, particularly in restrictive contexts. It also helps to enrich their knowledge and capacities in areas where Dejusticia has solid expertise.<\/p>\n

The next call for applications will open at the end of 2025 to form the cohort that will begin in mid-2026. Don\u2019t miss the opportunity to apply! It will be another chance to keep strengthening networks from and for the Global South.<\/p>\n
