Currently there’s a process underway in the Constitutional Court to recognize civil marriage to same-sex couples. The lawsuit that began the process was launched by Colombia Diversa, Center for the Study of Law, Justice and Society DeJuSticia-and others, last November 29, 2010.
As part of this process, Colombia Diversa prepared a public statement of respect for dignity and equality, which expresses support for equal marriage and adherence to the democratic values enshrined in the Constitution that should lead to recognize the right of all persons, without distinction on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity, to marry.
